Springfield Free Public Library Show

We will once again exhibit our members art in the Springfield Free Public Library; the show will be installed on June 7, 2025 and will remain up until July 7, 2025.

The theme for this show will be “Summer Vibes.”

Please submit up to six (6) digital images of your proposed artwork that fits the theme “Summer Vibes.” Please submit your artwork by Thursday, May 29. We will notify you about whether your artwork has been accepted in the show and when and where to drop it off. Please remember that all of your pieces must be framed and wired ready for hanging.

Please submit the name, size, medium, and price of each piece of artwork you are submitting for the show. When you note the price of your artwork, please note if the price is for the piece framed or unframed. Please include the name of your artwork on each image.

Please note that the library takes a commission of 20% on all sales that take place during the show. Please take note of that when you determine your pricing.

      1. Great question, William. The Springfield library has a large exhibition space so we will not impose a size limit on entries. However, if a piece is really large and would not fit within the show, we may not accept it. Hopefully that helps. And we would love to see your beach paintings in the show.

          1. Hi Bhooma,
We will be updating our Call to Art post shortly with details about how to submit digital images of your work for the show. If your piece(s) is(are) selected, you will be notified with details on how to bring them to the show for hanging. Best.

        1. Thanks for the reply.
I am a bit more concerned about artwork which is too small, for example would it be ok to bring 8×10 or 9×12 framed works.
Just for clarification. I am planning on bringing something beachy.

          1. Hi William,
Pieces that are 8 x 10 or 9 x 12 will fit in the show perfectly. There are no size restrictions at this time, either too small or too big.

    1. Hello,
I have a photograph I completed years ago that has been photoshopped with a palm tree and a pool. The size maybe 8.5 x 11.
Should I have my picture on poster board to frame.

      1. Hi Nancy,
If your piece is accepted for the show, it must be framed and wired ready for hanging. There are several ways to frame a photograph, but just be sure that it can hang appropriately and be protected. Good luck.

    2. Good evening, I am trying to upload images for the “Summer Vibes” Show, but the button is not working when I click on it.
I tried dropping my photos in the box, but that did not work either.

      1. Hi William,
Sorry for the difficulty. We are checking the page and will fix it.

    3. Hello,

When we include the price, would you please confirm that we should include the framed? My frames are chosen specifically for each piece of art.

      Thanks,

      Robin

      1. *Clarification – I meant…please confirm we should include the price of the art already framed as my frames are chosen specifically for each piece of art. Thanks, Robin

        1. Hi Robin,
Great question, thanks. When you include your price in the submission, just note that the price is for the work framed. So, for example, you can write $200 (framed). Some artists, like you, include the frame in the pricing while others do not. Please note that the library will take a commission of 20% for all sales that take place during the show. So please include that in your pricing. And thanks for reminding us to update our post to tell everyone about the 20% commission.
          Take care.
