We have been invited by Union County Office of Cultural and Heritage Affairs to exhibit our artworks at the Freeholder’s Gallery in Elizabeth.
The exhibit dates for the Westfield Art Association are from 10/01- 10/31. Union County Facilities will pick up the work and deliver to be hung in the Freeholders Gallery. The exhibit is open to the public for viewing outside the Freeholders Meeting Room located on the 6th floor of the Union County Administration building at 10 Elizabethtown Plaza in Elizabeth.
The drop off dates are between September 10th and 19th at Juxtapose Gallery in Westfield (58 Elm St., Westfield, NJ 07090).
The artwork can be any theme. (Please consider that it is a public space, it is best to stick to themes that are publicly appropriate). It does have to be framed, wired, labeled on back and the outside of any packing material.
At the moment it is for a single piece of work, however we may expand that number based on the participation in the near future.
Here are the steps you need to take to participate in the exhibit:
1. Make sure your artwork is wired to hang (no saw hooks please) and labeled in the back (even a post-it note is fine).
2. Pack your artwork appropriately. Please remember to label your packed artwork with name, telephone number, title and medium.
3. Bring in your work to Juxtapose Gallery and be sure to sign in at the desk of Juxtapose. There will be a sign up sheet available.
Artwork will be returned by the County to Juxtapose Gallery for pick up in November.
The Westfield Art Association will make every effort to treat your artwork with care. However, work is submitted at the artist’s risk. The Westfield Art Association, its Board of Directors, Juxtapose Gallery and it’s owners & employees, and the Freeholders Gallery of the County of Union, NJ & its employees will not be held liable for lost or damaged work. Artists are responsible for insuring their work from delivery at Juxtapose Gallery through return & pick-up.
Thank you very much,
WAA
