Artist Statement

As a medical illustrator and oil painter, I find inspiration where medicine and humanity meet. In my collection, “Scrubs and Stuffies,” I bring together the precision of medical devices with the comfort and familiarity of stuffed animals, creating a playful and unexpected conversation. My background in medical illustration informs my careful attention to anatomy, form, and lighting.

“Scrubs and Stuffies” is ultimately about the human side of medicine—the moments of vulnerability, comfort, resilience, and tenderness that can exist alongside technology and treatment. I invite viewers to see medical objects not simply as tools, but as witnesses to deeply personal experiences, and to discover warmth and humanity in an environment often defined by sterility and precision.
