We are happy to announce that two artists have been selected as artists-in-residence at the Westfield Memorial Library in 2025. The selection committee reviewed seven artists’ applications and proposals before selecting this year’s artists. The artists were all qualified and the committee had a difficult choice to make.
Samantha Mooney will be the artist-in-residence from March 1 to June 30, 2025 and Kelly Renee will be the artist-in-residence from August 1 to November 30, 2025. Sam is an abstract expressionist artist and Kelly is a macrame artist. The Westfield Memorial Library and the local community is lucky that the Westfield Art Association has talented artists who specialize in varied styles of art. The artist-in-residence program allows the library patrons to meet and discuss art with local creators for free in a community space.
We look forward to sharing more information about each of the artists-in-residence on our website.
Current Artist in Residence - Samantha Mooney

Samantha Mooney will be creating her colorful and expressive artwork at the library on Wednesdays from 3:00 to 5:00 pm and Saturdays from 2:00 to 4:00 pm. Some of Sam’s artwork is hanging in the hallway gallery by the meeting room on the first floor. All of these pieces are for sale through Sam’s website.
We installed some representative artwork of Sam’s yesterday. It will be on display until the end of her residency in June. You can see images of the artwork at left.
You can learn more about Sam by attending or watching her “Meet the Artist” interview that will be held on March 28, 2025 at 6:00 pm in the library’s meeting room. You can also learn more about Sam and see more of her artwork on her website at:
