Artist Statement

I was born, raised and went to art school in the former Czechoslovakia, where I was encouraged to create art with the monochrome hues popular in socialist murals. Memories of the drab and gray tones of those years light my imagination and creativity on fire when I paint today: bright, strong colors, the interplay of light and shadows, and finally an unlimited palette, as diverse as our lives.
