Today we enjoyed a lovely afternoon of art, conversation and refreshments. Every one that came walked away with a beautiful work of art. It was a fantastic and positive way to set the mood for the upcoming holidays.

All of our members are invited to join us for a fun art exchange. Bring a wrapped piece of beautiful art that you have created, and join in on the excitement. Participants will draw a number from a hat, and pick a random (not their own) piece of art to take home with them. Refreshments will be available.
At our Oct 20th event guest speaker Trish Classe Gianakis went in to professor mode! She walked us through her process while handing our samples of raw clay, unfinished pieces pottery and finished pieces. She discussed and showed the glazes and materials that go into making beautiful and unique Raku ceramics.
Thank you to all who joined us, and a big thank you to Trish!
Trish will be back to teach a class in Raku. For more information about the class, please contact South Ave Arts at (908) 654-2787.
The Westfield Artist Association Presents Trish Classe Gianakis. Hear why she has had a fascination with creating ceramics and the Raku firing process for 25 years. She will talk about throwing clay on a potter’s wheel and hand building, layering textures and combining Raku ceramics with various found objects.
Besides having a Masters Degree in Computer Art, Trish Classe Gianakis is a adjunct professor at St. Peters University teaching digital design. She has a passion for ceramics and doing RAKU. Besides throwing clay on the potter’s wheel, she hand throws clay and creates sculptures using raku clay.
