About Westfield Art Association: 

Since 1922, the Westfield Art Association, a 501(c)(3) non-profit, completely volunteer organization, has provided art education and public exhibitions, and continues today to actively encourage its many members in the pursuit of individual artistic goals and growth. All mediums. All experience levels. All welcome.

We are an organization aimed to cater to a local populace of artists. Primarily in New Jersey.

This privacy policy applies to all visitors and customers using or accessing any area of westfieldartassociation.org.  This policy does not cover any website that you may go to by a link from our site. For these sites, the site owners are responsible for publishing their own privacy policy.

Our website contains links to other sites as well as potentially sponsored posts and advertisements. Please be aware that once you used the links to leave our site, you should know that we don’t have any control over that other website. We do our best to make sure we only recommend websites we have used and know well, but are not responsible for any of their content, changes or updates. Mailing List

You can join our mailing list by becoming a member of WAA.  If you decide to subscribe to our email list, we keep a list of name and your email address through mailchimp.com. Each time you receive an email from us, there is an unsubscribe button on the bottom of the email. If you would like view or to unsubscribe right away, please use our contact form on the website with the request to unsubscribe, with your full name and email address in the body of email. Your information will be communicated back to you, and/or deleted.

Our mailing list is used to share news and/or marketing campaigns. It is an opt-in mailing list that is managed through Mailchimp. In other words, we won’t send you any emails unless you have joined WAA as a member. You can find Mailchimp policies here: https://mailchimp.com/legal/privacy/

When signing up to become a member and our mailing list you are confirming that you are 18 years old or older, or 16 or older and have your parent’s permission.

Getting Membership

Contact Us Form

Anytime you use the contact us form and/or submit an email address via contact us form, only the admin receives the email. In the email the admin can view the following information: your email address, browser information, and IP address, as well as the name you used on the form. This information, including your original communication, is not usually kept, but is deleted shortly after your concern/question is resolved.

You can request to receive a copy of any communications we may have on file for you at any time by emailing your request through the contact us form. Please keep in mind that our records of communications are not kept indefinitely, and we will be able to only forward you the information we currently have.

Comments

When visitors leave comments on one of our pages we receive the visitors IP address to help spam detection. Comments require manual approval by the admin. Published content and comments are stored indefinitely unless deletion/removal is requested by the original author. The IP addresses, and/or email addresses are not stored after the comment has been published.

If you left a comment and wish for it to be removed, please contact us.

If you leave a comment, your name/nickname/whichever name you use will be displayed above the comment. If you wish that altered or removed, please use the contact us form. Westfield Art Association reserves the right to remove/not approve comments at their discretion.

We also utilize additional spam detection by anit-spam (https://wordpress.org/plugins/anti-spam/), which detects IP addresses in order to prevent spam.

Embedded Content From Other Websites

Occasionally we have embedded pieces from other website on our website. We utilize them to share information better. The embeds behave as if the visitor had visited their site and may use cookies or capture information, such as IP address or browser info, and monitor your interaction with the content with your account with that service (if you have an account and are logged in). Typically embedded content is from websites that share videos, images, or other content. In our case the major embedded content is from Youtube and Facebook.

Your rights

If you have left comments or communicated with us you can request to see data we have about you.

Typically, if you have left comments the data will be an email address, IP address assigned at the time of leaving the comments. We remove that data shortly after publishing the comment. The name/pseudonym the user left at the time will be public.

You can request to have all the data we have about you deleted at any time.

Anyone seeking access, or seeking to correct, amend or delete inaccurate data should contact us with the said request. We will respond within a reasonable time.

If you have previously agreed to any of the services we provide, signed up for a newsletter, or in any way shared your information with us, you can also use the ‘contact us’ form and request to be removed from whatever list and/or services you agreed to in the past.

Data Breach Procedures

Should an event occur where customer data has been lost, stolen or potentially compromised, our customers will be alerted via email, social media and public announcement within 72 hours of us becoming aware of the said event. We will make a report of any such incident to proper authorities and will work closely with our customers to rectify the situation.

Westfield Art Associationis committed to ensuring that your privacy is protected. We will always clearly state what purpose is the information collected for. Should we ask you to provide any information, then you can be assured that it will only be used in accordance with this privacy statement.
